What's the best Hot Tub under $15k?
I'm planning to buy a Hot Tub and after shopping around a bit it seems like I won't be able to get what I'm looking for under $15k. I want a high performing, therapeutic hot tub that fits at least 5 people comfortably. A lounger would be preferred. I'd like wifi capability, but that seems to be available on most hot tubs. I'm having a hard time figuring out what is salesmanship and what is the truth on the handful of models I've looked at. Everyone tells me theirs is the best, but honestly the top models from the top brands seem to perform about the same. That being said, there's a pretty big price difference between a Hot Spring and Artesian that I think are pretty similar. Is there any truth to the claims that one brand is superior to another, or are they all made the same way? Thanks in advance for any help, it's possible I'm just experiencing a case of analysis paralysis.

Thanks Jack, this is a loaded question.
The short answer is that there are a lot of great options under $15k depending on what's available around you. Brands like Artesian and Master Spas are often positioned as a value/luxury option where you can get similar options and quality to the Hot Spring and Jacuzzis out there, while saving some money. Hot Spring and Jacuzzi's dealer networks are much more robust though, and they have the prestigious name that brings folks in. All of these Hot Tubs are great and you can't really go wrong, but if you want to keep it under $15k I'd look to the Twilight 8.2 from Master Spas or the Artesian Grand Bahama. If pricing is close between comparable models, just go with the dealer that has the best reputation or who you get the best impression of.
Now for the longer answer. You brought up some concerns about the trustworthiness of the information you're getting from the local dealers and the nuts and bolts of Hot Tub construction itself. Unfortunately, I think your intuition is right on here. There is a definite lack of transparent Hot Tub info online, and dealers' sales staff are obviously incentivized to tell you want to hear and position their product as the best on the market. There are certainly differences between different manufacturers, and some of these are worth knowing, but there's also a lot of marketing fluff that makes a marginal difference in the actual Hot Tub experience. In general, the structural integrity, construction process and build quality of major manufacturers is pretty close. They all use Balboa or Gecko parts (the undisputed leaders in the industry), are fully foam insulated, have enhanced filtration systems etc. Fit and Finish are really the biggest differentiators, and a lot of that comes down to buyer preference. I wish more people knew that a $20,000 Hot Tub and a $13,000 Hot Tub often have about 95% of the same parts.
This is a pretty big conversation, but hopefully this helps. You're addressing a lot of the reasons Hot Tub Hunt exists today, so hopefully you're able to find some of the answers you're looking for on the site.
