How hard is the hot tub to clean? Does it take longer than an hour a week?

Good question, cleaning and ongoing maintenance are one of the biggest concerns for many Hot Tub shoppers. Thankfully, as long as you follow a few best practices regular cleaning should be very manageable. Here are the things to focus on: 1: Keep your filters clean. This is arguably the most important step in the longevity of your Hot Tub in general, but it also goes a long way toward keeping your water and Hot Tub itself clean and clear. If your filters get too clogged up, contaminants in your water won’t have anywhere to go other than your Hot Tub’s shell, jets and plumbing, leading to more headaches. 2: As much as possible, try to control what you have on your body when you enter your Hot Tub. Body oils, sunscreen, makeup and many other topical contaminants can create headaches when it comes to Hot Tub maintenance. Many Hot Tubbers struggle with a scum line along their water level, and this is the most common culprit. When possible, rinse off in the shower before getting in the Hot Tub, and always be cognizant of what you might be putting in your Hot Tub’s water when you get in. 3: Stay on top of your chemical maintenance routine. Hot Tubs are a ripe ecosystem for all sorts of things to grow if you are neglecting your water chemistry. There are all sorts of maintenance programs depending on your Hot Tub’s filtration method. Staying on top of the recommended procedures will save you a lot of headaches in the long run. Keeping a Hot Tub clean is relatively straightforward, but getting a dirty Hot Tub back to clean is a different story. In general, by taking about 15-30 minutes a week (on average) to take care of regular chemical maintenance like balancing pH, adding chlorine or bromine, and cleaning filters, you should be able to stay on top of your Hot Tub’s cleaning and maintenance. Hope this helps!
